Founder & CEO
Mr. Lipscombe opened the first Shane English School in 1977 in Japan. Over the past 38 years, Shane has grown his schools in the UK, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Poland, Algeria, Thailand and Indonesia. Shane has also created a number of companies to support the schools, including Saxoncourt Publishing, Saxoncourt Teacher Training and Recruitment, and Shane Global Study Abroad.
Today, Shane continues to direct many aspects of the Saxoncourt Group; maintaining a personal interest in every Shane English School around the world.
Group Secretary to the Corporate Office
Katrina serves as the primary window of contact to the CEO, Shane Lipscombe. She is also responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Katrina has a degree in Psychology from the University of Bristol, UK, and a Masters in Translation from SOAS, University of London, UK.
Chief Operations Officer
Sonia has a strong background in international financial operations and has previously worked in senior positions at various publicly-listed companies. Sonia graduated with a BA in Business Management from Queens University in New York City, USA.
Sonia’s main role is to oversee the operations of Group companies to enhance corporate effectiveness. She also oversees the management of HR affairs throughout the Group.
Business Development Director
Eric brings over twenty years of language school development and franchising experience to the company. He is responsible for establishing and developing franchise businesses in new territories or new business ventures in existing territories.
Having previously built a successful chain of English schools across southern Taiwan, Eric joined the franchising team in 2012 to expand the Shane brand around the globe. Eric originally comes from the USA and holds a B.Sc. degree from the University of Wisconsin and an M.Ed. from Framingham State University.
Human Resources & Office Manager
Michelle has a strong background in HR/Administration having worked in large international companies in the financial services, technology, and hospitality industries, and she graduated with a BA in Communications from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada.
Her primary responsibility is to enhance the operational efficiency for the Group with a focus in HR and administrative affairs.
Group Resources Manager
Daniel joined the company in 2007 and held positions in teaching, teacher training, and teacher management for 6 years. He now provides training and support to regional headquarters across the Saxoncourt Group, and consults and advises on academic matters. Additionally, he oversees and manages the Group’s digital resources, cybersecurity, and data backup systems. He is also responsible for developing, overseeing, and managing the Group’s websites.
Daniel is from London, UK. He has a Masters degree, a Cambridge CELTA and a Trinity DipTESOL. Before joining the Saxoncourt Group he was a postgraduate lecturer at Coventry University, UK.
Group Social Media Manager
Daniel’s role is to build brand awareness and engagement via social media across the Saxoncourt Group companies. He also consults on social media best practices as required and manages email newsletters.
Daniel is from Canada where he attended Saint Mary’s University for degrees in English and Biology. He has been in Taiwan for 11 years where he has been teaching and writing for the ESL/EFL industry.
Head of Teacher Recruitment
Adam is responsible for leading the recruitment team to enhance the overall efficiency in the planning, creation, implementation and management of international teacher recruitment.
Adam received his MBA from Keele University, and has been working in the English education sector for over 7 years.
Saxoncourt Publishing Manager
Olivia has worked in the EFL industry for over a decade, starting her career as an English teacher before joining Shane English School Taiwan in 2007. At SEST, she held a managerial position as a Teaching Assistant Manager before being promoted to Saxoncourt Publishing Manager.
Olivia is responsible for the development of new EFL materials and for updating existing ones. She is also responsible for customer service, purchasing, and ordering.
Cecilia works for Saxoncourt Publishing as the designer and illustrator for the department’s storybook readers, and core English courses.
Cecilia graduated from Chang Gung University in Taiwan with a BA in Industrial Design. She then worked for LOvGO Design Studio as a Graphic Designer before joining the Saxoncourt Group.
Regional Accounting Manager
Joni is responsible for the Group’s Asia-based accounts. She graduated from the Jinwen University of Science and Technology in Taiwan where she majored in International Trade. Before joining the Saxoncourt Group she previously worked at a listed company as an Assistant Manager for 9 years.
Regional Accounting Manager
YuHsien is responsible for the Group’s UK-based accounts. She has worked in the areas of Accounting and Finance at international firms in Taiwan and the UK.
YuHsien graduated from the University of York in the UK with a degree in Economics and Finance.
